NASA SELECTS ENGINEERING EVALUATION AND TEST CONTRACTOR



WASHINGTON -- NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., 
has selected the Aerospace Corporation of El Segundo, Calif., for the 
Specialized Engineering Evaluation and Test Services contract. The 
total value of this indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity 
cost-plus fixed fee contract is $35 million. The period of 
performance is 18 months. 

Under this contract, the Aerospace Corporation will provide 
specialized programmatic engineering and evaluation test services in 
its role as a federally funded research and development center of the 
U.S. Air Force. Aerospace Corporation will support activities related 
to project management, systems and discipline engineering as well as 
business and resource management at Goddard. 

The contractor will provide on- and off-site project and 
multidisciplinary engineering services, independent testing, 
contractor on-site monitoring and independent evaluation of projects 
and programs. The Aerospace Corporation also will provide leadership 
or staffing for focused science and technology studies, advanced 
systems architecture, systems engineering and independent reviews. 

Task orders will be issued for services performed in all aspects of 
mission and instrument development and implementation. Services 
include components, subsystems, systems, science instruments and 
observations. Task orders also will be issued for the Tracking and 
Data Relay Satellite system engineering support and support for 
launch, ground system, spacecraft, and suborbital craft, including 
attached shuttle or space station payloads. Exploration vehicles or 
spacecraft to support the exploration program also are included.
