NASA SETS BRIEFING ABOUT SHUTTLE ENDEAVOUR'S READINESS TO LAUNCH



CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- NASA managers will hold a news conference on 
Wednesday, June 3, at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida to 
discuss the status of the next space shuttle launch. The briefing 
will begin after the end of the Flight Readiness Review, a meeting to 
assess preparations for shuttle Endeavour's STS-127 mission to the 
International Space Station. The review is expected to conclude by 5 
p.m. EDT. 

Live status updates will be added periodically via the NASA News

The review is expected to include the selection of an official launch 
date. Endeavour currently is targeted to launch at 7:17 a.m. on June 
13. 

The briefing participants are: 
- Bill Gerstenmaier, associate administrator for Space Operations, 
NASA Headquarters, Washington 
- LeRoy Cain, deputy manager, Space Shuttle Program, NASA's Johnson 
Space Center, Houston 
- Pete Nickolenko, STS-127 shuttle launch director, NASA's Kennedy 
Space Center 

NASA Television and the agency's Web site will broadcast the news 
briefing live. Journalists may ask questions from participating NASA 
locations. Reporters should contact their preferred NASA center to 
confirm its participation.
