Artemis I Rocket Grows Closer to Launch

The Artemis I mission reached another milestone this week at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. On July 5, teams with Exploration Ground Systems and contractor Jacobs stacked the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage atop the Space Launch System rocket. The stage’s RL 10 engine will send the Orion spacecraft toward the Moon.


 

NASA Offers $45M to Solve Risks for Astronaut Moon Landing Services

NASA is seeking new work to mature designs and conduct technology and engineering risk-reduction tasks for the human landing system, which will ferry Artemis astronauts from lunar orbit to the surface and back. The agency will award firm fixed-price, milestone-based contracts of up to $45 million for commercial-led work.

Ingenuity Mars Helicopter Finishes 9th Flight

The mood in the Mars Helicopter ground control room was jubilant July 5 when the team learned that Ingenuity was alive and well after completing a journey spanning 2,051 feet of challenging terrain. Learn more about the helicopter’s ninth flight, which broke records for flight duration and cruise speed, and nearly quadrupled the distance flown between two airfields.
