Marshall Engineers Refine Hardware, Apply Innovative Solutions to More Reliably Recycle Space Station WastewaterThe newly upgraded distillation system for the International Space Station’s urine processor assembly was installed in September. The system challenged the Environmental Control and Life Support Systems team from NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, to take a fresh look at an old problem, and apply a state-of-the-art solution.
Chief Engineer Deborah Crane Talks Commercial Crew LaunchGrowing up on a small farm in Shawnee, Kansas, Deborah Crane, launch vehicle chief engineer for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, spent her days caring for animals, tending crops, and repairing anything in need. All the while, her dreams took her far from home – to NASA and space exploration.
New Experiments Installed as US, Russian Crew Ships Near LaunchFour spaceships are parked at the International Space Station this week as two new crews are due to launch by the end of October. In the meantime, the Expedition 63 crew has begun unpacking the nearly 4 tons of science experiments, crew supplies, and station hardware from the newly arrived Cygnus cargo craft.
Registration Open for NASA’s Human Exploration Rover ChallengeA new school year is underway, which means it is time for a new year of NASA’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge.
