Jennifer Vollmer takes you inside the Space Launch System Engineering Support Center located in the Huntsville Operations Support Center at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, to learn more about flight operations and how NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) experts will support the Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1) from remote locations all over the United States.


 

Illuminating First Light Data from Parker Solar Probe

Just over a month into its mission, Parker Solar Probe has returned first-light data from each of its four instrument suites. These early observations – while not yet examples of the key science observations Parker Solar Probe will take closer to the Sun – show that each of the instruments is working well. Marshall helped develop and test a key instrument will study the solar wind and the  Solar Probe Cup that will scoop up charged particles,measuring how electrons and ions move within the powerful outward rush.


 

NASA Marshall Leaders Present Industry, Advocate Awards

On Sept. 20, Marshall presented its Industry & Advocate Awards for fiscal year 2018 during the Marshall Small Business Alliance Meeting at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville. The awards reflect leadership in the aerospace business community and sustained achievement.

(VIDEO 3:10) STEMonstrations: Water Filtration

Expedition 55/56 Commander Drew Feustel discusses the International Space Station water recovery system used to recycle crew waste water and recycle it into clean drinking water for astronauts. Waste water purification is one piece of the comprehensive life support system developed by Marshall engineers that today is being adapted and advanced for long duration deep space missions.
