Marshall Celebrates NASA’s 60th Anniversary at NASA in the Park June 16

NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and Downtown Huntsville Inc. will fill Big Spring Park East in downtown Huntsville with exhibits, food trucks, live music, educational opportunities, and even a chance to meet an astronaut June 16, for NASA in the Park. This year’s event, to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT, will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the agency’s founding in 1958.


 

Marshall Center Director Todd May Announces Retirement

NASA Marshall Space Flight Center Director Todd May has announced his retirement, effective in late July. Named Marshall's center director in February 2016, May will retire after 27 years of service at the agency. He was appointed deputy director of Marshall in August 2015, and served as acting director from November 2015 until his appointment as director.


 

 

New Science Experiments to Board the International Space Station

A new batch of science will be headed to the International Space Station aboard the SpaceX Dragon in late June. The spacecraft will deliver science that studies the use of artificial intelligence, plant water use all over the planet, gut health in space, more efficient drug development and the formation of inorganic structures without the influence of Earth’s gravity.
