	April 28, 2017  MEDIA ADVISORY In Case You Missed It: A Weekly Summary of Top Content from NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center Week of April 24 - 28, 2017   (Video 3:15) Peggy Whitson Sets New American Record for Most Time in Space NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, currently living and working aboard the International Space Station, broke the record this week for cumulative time spent in space by a U.S. astronaut. Whitson, the first female to command the space station, is no stranger to space records. She also holds the record for most spacewalks and spacewalk hours by a female astronaut.   SLS Engine Section Test Article Loaded on Barge Pegasus An engine section structural qualification test article for NASA's Space Launch System, was loaded onto the barge Pegasus at the agency's Michoud Assembly Facility this week, where it will make its way from Michoud to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center for structural loads testing. At Marshall, the hardware will be pushed, pulled, twisted and bent to ensure the it can withstand the extreme forces of launch and flight.   Cassini Dives Between Saturn and the Planet's Rings NASA's Cassini spacecraft began its daring "Grand Finale" this week with the first in a series of dives through the narrow gap between the Saturn and planet's rings. Cassini has spent 13 years in orbit around Saturn collecting invaluable data about the gas giant and its moons, following a seven-year journey from Earth.   Marshall Hosts Annual Space Station Working Group This week, dozens of scientists, engineers, NASA team members and even astronaut Don Pettit gathered in Huntsville, Alabama for the annual Payload Operations and Integration Working Group. The event ensures the payload developers, principal investigators and project managers have the opportunity to coordinate processes, schedules, and review the status of scientific payloads currently on or soon launching to the International Space Station.   NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge Lands in the Rocket City For the first time ever, Huntsville will host the NASA's International Space Apps Challenge this weekend. The global hackathon engages thousands of worldwide citizens to work with NASA's open source data and products and design innovative solutions to universal challenges.
