NASA to Host Up-Close Journey to Mars Showcase Aug. 18Media are invited Aug. 18 to learn first-hand about NASA's journey to Mars, including the science, technology and human spaceflight activities that are making human missions to the Red Planet possible. The day will begin at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility where the Space Launch System and parts of the Orion spacecraft are being manufactured, and will end at a test firing of SLS’s powerful RS-25 engine at the Stennis Space Center.
You Won't Believe What Space and Olympic Athletes Have in CommonWith the Olympic Games in full swing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory team has released a new project -- AstrOlympics. The project explores the spectacular range of science found in both the impressive feats of the Olympic Games as well as cosmic phenomena throughout the universe.

Look skyward and you might see another spectacular show tonight.
