| December 04, 2015 MEDIA ADVISORY M15-177 NASA Marshall Center to Host Mentor-Protégé Agreement Signing Dec. 7 Between Aerojet Rocketdyne and ICO Rally; Media Invited Executives of technology firms Aerojet Rocketdyne of Sacramento, California, and ICO Rally Inc., of Palo Alto, California, will sign a NASA Mentor-Protégé Agreement Dec. 7 at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Members of the news media are invited. The signing will be held 1 p.m. in building 4200 at the Marshall Center. Speakers will include Kim Whitson, director of Marshall's Office of Procurement; Steve Wofford, manager of Marshall’s Space Launch System Engine Office; Daniel Adamski, program manager of the Space Launch System for Aerojet Rocketdyne; Edwina Cioffi, president of ICO Rally; and David Brock, small business specialist in Marshall's Office of Procurement. “I am proud of Marshall's unwavering support of the Mentor-Protégé Program and the great successes it has achieved in helping NASA meet its mission,” said Glenn A. Delgado, associate administrator for the Office of Small Business Programs at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “I am sure that this new agreement will continue to strengthen the success of the Program." Aerojet Rocketdyne is the prime contractor for the engine contract of NASA’s Space Launch System, the agency’s next deep-space exploration rocket. ICO Rally, a small, woman- owned Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) business, is a key electronics distributor for Aerojet Rocketdyne. The 12-month agreement is the third of its kind overseen by Marshall, fostering a partnership between a NASA prime contractor and a certified HUBZone small business. The federal HUBZone program is designed to promote job growth, capital investment and economic development for small businesses in economically challenged communities. The NASA Mentor-Protégé Program, established in 2008 by NASA's Office of Small Business Programs, allows NASA prime contractors opportunities to enter into mentor- protégé agreements with small businesses and historically black colleges and universities/minority serving institutions under their subcontracting programs to establish long-term relationships, enhance technical capabilities and enable protégés to successfully compete for prime contract and subcontract awards.
