| May 11, 2015 MEDIA ADVISORY 15-063 (Correction) Media Invited to Attend NASA Louisiana Aerospace Day Activities May 14 in Baton Rouge CORRECTION: Updates time and location of media availability at Capital Rotunda and updates time of astronaut visit to Scotlandville Magnet High School. The National Center for Aerospace Manufacturing signing event has been postponed. NASA is hosting Louisiana Aerospace Day activities May 14 at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge. Media are invited to interview Patrick Scheuermann, director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama and astronaut Rick Mastracchio at 10:20 a.m. CDT at the Capitol Rotunda. Throughout the day, Scheuermann, Mastracchio and other NASA team members will meet with state leaders, lawmakers and the public to recognize the space agency's enduring partnerships in the State of Louisiana. At Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, NASA is building the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket that together will carry astronauts to explore deep space and ultimately make a journey to Mars. At 12:30 p.m. CDT, Mastracchio and NASA team members will visit Scotlandville Magnet High School at 9870 Scotland Ave. in Baton Rouge to talk about space exploration and the importance of education. From 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT NASA exhibits in the Capital lawn and Rotunda will give public audiences a look at work underway on the Space Launch System, Orion and other NASA projects, including some of the NASA-related educational initiatives at Louisiana universities and schools.
