NASA's Space Launch System Visits Philadelphia for Science Fest 2014
NASA is building a new rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS), that will take humans farther into space than ever before to places like an asteroid and eventually Mars. NASA representatives will be in Philadelphia April 29-May 3 for the Philadelphia Science Festival to share with the public the exciting progress being made on America’s new rocket. NASA SLS representatives will be on hand Tuesday, April 29, at the Philadelphia Phillies baseball game for “Science Night at the Ballpark.” Activities begin prior to the first pitch at 7:05 p.m., and continue during the game. Dozens of hands-on activity stations will be open to the public throughout the stadium. NASA will have representatives available to answer questions on deep space exploration. The Philadelphia Science Festival is a 10-day, community-wide celebration of science that takes place annually in April, featuring lectures, debates, hands-on activities, special exhibitions and other informal science education experiences for Philadelphians of all ages. Media are invited to the activities at the stadium and other events during the festival. NASA representatives will be available for interviews at all of the below events.
