Building mplayer on Solaris

I did try those guides. Even after doing:
export CPP="/usr/sfw/bin/gcc -E"
export CC=/usr/sfw/bin/gcc
The configure script is still trying to execute cc not gcc. I also tried editing the configure script. Changing _cc=cc to _cc=gcc

I'm still getting the same error as before.
