I tried esd also for audio redirection but it also did not help. Using VNC viewer, I ran mplayer on remote linux machine, -> ./mplayer -vo sdl -ao esd:192.168.22.37 /reference/IPs/media/testvectors/video/flv/4982106456.flv In cygwin, I ran esd daemon -> esd.exe -tcp -public Using netstat on both machines I can see 2 new TCP connections are established after starting mplayer. TCP 192.168.22.37:16001 192.168.22.19:35047 ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.22.37:16001 192.168.22.19:35048 ESTABLISHED 192.168.22.37 is IP address of cygwin machine running esd daemon and VNC viewer. 192.168.22.19 is IP address of linux machine running mplayer. But still, I cannot hear the audio. Can someone kindly suggest what I might be doing wrong? > I am running mplayer on a remote red hat linux machine through VNC > viewer. Most VNC viewers don't automatically forward audio, or anything else... You can try to find one that does, or you can learn about esound/esd. -- Ha. I'm the idiot. ------------------------------ _______________________________________________ MPlayer-users mailing list MPlayer-users at mplayerhq.hu https://lists.mplayerhq.hu/mailman/listinfo/mplayer-users End of MPlayer-users Digest, Vol 74, Issue 33 *********************************************
