Sorry for nagging along, but there are some things with dvdnav playback that still probably should be resolved (and by someone with more insight in the code than me can probably explain). I post this on mplayer-users instead of dvdnav-discuss b/c I don't have any patch to offer. This is merely a request for comments. Ok, here we go: Since I switched to dvdnav as default playback method (instead of dvd), I got the following nerving problem: at (almost) each chapter break, there's a short hiccup in the sound (as if stopped for a short moment), and on the console I see the following: A: 170.1 V: 170.1 A-V: -0.000 ct: -0.192 114/114 10% 0% 1.4% 0 0 [ac3 @ 0xddbda0]incomplete frame: -0.192 148/148 10% 0% 1.4% 0 0 [ac3 @ 0xddbda0]frame sync error: -0.188 0/ 0 ??% ??% ??,?% 0 0 A: 173.0 V: 173.0 A-V: 0.008 ct: -0.095 36/ 36 51% 0% 7.3% 0 0 whereas the dvd variant has no problem with it at all. This happens with PAL and NTSC dvds. With my Transformers 2 DVD (german), which I can play ONLY with dvdnav, I get the same error (prior to that, I got some CRC errors here), and if played with something other than -nocache, chapter breaks (which at this disc also mean branching to another position on the disc) jumps well ahead into the next chapter. One could argue to not buy such a copy protected DVD, but once I have the DVD... I still have to check back with other DVDs with seamless branching (all four Alien DVDs come to mind), where this phenomenon also could occur... dumping the stream is also no option, as the dumped stream behaves like the -cache nnn option... -- Cheers, Alex
