Frame rate for MTS files

Ok, thanks for the hint.
Adding "-demuxer lavf -nocorrect-pts" seems to work, with "-mc 1" a/v 
gets out of sync. I never used these options before and it used to work 
fine with "-fps 50". Together with "-demuxer lavf -nocorrect-pts" the 
"-fps" option works again. This seems strange and it has nothing to do 
with PAFF. I also converted my DVDs to x264/faac in mp4 containers. With 
these movies, the -fps option doesn't work either unless I use the 
"-demuxer lavf -nocorrect-pts" option. Reading the mplayer man page and 
googling a bit I still don't really understand what the "nocorrect-pts" 
option does. Do I loose frames with this?
