So move your "/tmp" to the RAM ( use TMPFS filesystem ) to save your flash-drive from worn-out by massive save cycles. And more over MPlayer don't have any browser-plugin. There's thridparty one ( or two ) that uses MPlayer to playback but any configuration is done form these plug-in not from MPlayer side.
