I've a freshly created video that will play fine when uploaded to YouTube or when editing in kdenlive. When I attempt to play the source file I get just the audio and a grey screen. mplayer also becomes unresponsive to keyboad/mouse input after playing the clip. What needs to be done to play correctly? Here is my mplayer version, the start of the output when I run mplayer from the command line and information about the video file as described by mediainfo. mplayer version: 2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu19 When running mplayer from the command line the output is: michael@hive:~/Videos/sotm3$ mplayer sotm_universe_benevolent.mp4 MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.3.3 (C) 2000-2007 MPlayer Team CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 545 Processor (Family: 16, Model: 4, Stepping: 2) CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 1 3DNow2: 1 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1 Compiled with runtime CPU detection. mplayer: could not connect to socket mplayer: No such file or directory Failed to open LIRC support.
