I tested ac3_truehd-50mb.ts (md5sum 7c265fa60999f656dad934102c936e96) which Ibelieve is the file you used to implement the feature, and incoming/00000.m2ts(md5sum e4c25889111020e0e3253045afee9d08) which I believe also has ac3/truehdstreams.Both files play (truehd) audio fine with and without -ausid 0x72, but fail tofind audio with -ausid 0x71:
mplayer ac3_truehd-50mb.ts -ausid 0x71MPlayer SVN-r29549-4.3 (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team
Playing ac3_truehd-50mb.ts.TS file format detected.NO VIDEO! NO AUDIO! NO SUBS (yet)! No stream found.
