I just wanted to point out that, imo, except for the hardware specific video out
devices, the following three options make sense performance-wise:
-vo xv
-vo gl:yuv=2
.vo vdpau
(Note that vdpau is not NVIDIA-specific any more: S3 released a driver for the -
currently unavailable - 540 and 530 cards that supports vdpau)

If gl:yuv=2 does not work an a given system, xv is probably the best choice.
