Hi. Is it possebll to play a dvd disk from a dvd drive mounted over nfs?
This is the result I'm getting when I try:
mplayer -dvd-device /mnt/nfs/ dvd://1
MPlayer dev-SVN-r29170mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: No such file or directory
Failed to open LIRC support. You will not be able to use your remote
control.
It's the correct command. If I give
mplayer -dvd-device /smyth/iso/cold_mountain.iso dvd://1
MPlayer SVN-r29170-4.2.2 (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team

Playing dvd://1.
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.10 for DVD access
There are 15 titles on this DVD.
There are 1 angles in this DVD title.

libdvdread: Attempting to retrieve all CSS keys
libdvdread: This can take a _long_ time, please be patient

libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.VOB at 0x0000012d
libdvdread: Elapsed time 0
libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.VOB at 0x0000050d

libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB at 0x000244fe

libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_1.VOB at 0x00356721
libdvdread: Elapsed time 0
libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_03_1.VOB at 0x003634bc

I plays as expected.

But I also see
"mplayer: No such file or directory"

You are missing the bits about libdvdread could not open (my nfs share)
as fair as I can tell.

Playing dvd://1.
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.10 for DVD access
libdvdread: Attempting to use device 192.168.0.3:/cdrom mounted on
/mnt/nfs for CSS authentication
libdvdread: Could not open 192.168.0.3:/cdrom with libdvdcss.
libdvdread: Can't open 192.168.0.3:/cdrom for reading
libdvdread: Device 192.168.0.3:/cdrom inaccessible, CSS authentication
not available.
You need libdvdcss installed as far as I can see, but has nothing to do with nfs mount or local.
