Hi. We're attempting to stream live video from a customer's webcam. This was mostly working fine, until they decided to switch off the microphone. Now mplayer hangs during startup. We can fix the problem by using the -nosound option, but this will be used by an application that doesn't know in advance whether a URL will have audio or not, so we can't hard-code the option. We really need a working solution in a few days, and we're willing to patch the mplayer code to make it happen. Can anyone suggest any options and/or source code changes to make this happen? Below is the output from mplayer, which hung for a minute until I hit CTRL-c and it exited. We got the same behaviour from the latest source build, but it's only configured to do pcm audio output - which has problems of its own - and I don't want to confuse the issue.
