mplayer and dvdnav always tells me to use -nocache

mplayer often tells me this:

Remember to disable MPlayer's cache when playing dvdnav:// streams
(adding -nocache to your command line)

The problem is, I DID add that flag. Does mplayer just always tell me
that anyway, or is it not detecting that I added -nocache?

And the parenthetical phrase seems to indicate that it is doing it for
me anyway, so maybe I don't need to add it. Is that really what is
happening or is just telling me to do that?

In which case, it might read better if it says:

(by adding -nocache to your command line)

At any rate, I always feel slightly offended when MPlayer tells me to
do something I already did. Feels slightly rude.
