At some point MPlayer was compilable under Solaris if you just set
your system up for Posix compatibility, by using the appropriate PATH
from the examples in standards(5).

I don't remember whether or not it was Solaris, but I know that on one
system at least the appropriate path was /usr/xpgr6/bin/. (At least I
think it was 6.)
