Dear fellow mplayer users,

I try to play a dvd and I can see it but sound is a bit off and is somehow playing slower, then I see the screen in the background with many of these plastered in the screen.

Too many video packets in the buffer: (4096 in 8275651 bytes).
Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?
For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option.

This is happening on included mplayer in Slax Linux Live CD which has worked great for me. On my installed Fedora 9/Fedora 10/Fedora Rawhide svn compiled Mplayer, this does not happen.

root@slax:~# mplayer --version
MPlayer dev-SVN-r26343-4.2.3 (C) 2000-2008 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (Family: 6, Model: 15, Stepping: 11)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled with runtime CPU detection.

....

I just want to know what this means, I know that I can recompile mplayer and install it on slax too, but I have not been able to configure it because subversion package is not present and I'll leave it as it is, but was wondering what could cause these errors.

TIA,

Antonio
