Throughout the past several years, I occasionally try -hr-edl-seek with mencoder. I have never seen it work, not once, on any of the various content I have tested with. (The problem is the oft reported "too many video packets in the buffer" error.) Has anyone ever gotten it to work, and if so, with what container and codecs?
