This is over year old. That will work as well as a wooden wheel on a
Porsche.Player should work fine with even ancient system libraries,
but forll the media libraries only the latest are supported, so if you
want x264upport you'll probably have to build it yourself, too (unless
youse a system that keeps more up-to-date like gentoo or possibly debian
testing).
