playing blu-ray discs with TrueHD or PCM tracks

Hello -

I am able to play blu-ray discs fantastically with mplayer. the problem
i am having is that if the disc has only a TrueHD or PCM english audio
track, i can't get mplayer to play any audio. (i am running 64-bit linux).

I am running svn of both mplayer and ffmpeg. i have tried every
combination of demuxer (lavf, mpegts, mpegps, mpegpes, etc.) and audio
codec (mlp, ffmlp, pcm, dvdpcm, etc) that i can think of (that might
work) and i always get "NO AUDIO!" (but the video plays fine) except if
i try to use the lavf demuxer, in which case the console freezes with
the line: "libavformat file format detected." and never goes anywhere.

I keep reading that mplayer (or rather ffmpeg) has added TrueHD/MLP
support officially now - shouldn't that mean support for TrueHD tracks
at least? has anyone gotten TrueHD tracks or PCM tracks to play from
blu-ray discs in mplayer?

I'd really appreciate some help! please let me know if i need to supply
more information (or maybe submit a bug report? i don't know if this is
really a bug or just functionality that hasn't been completely added yet
- or just my own ineptitude!). thanks,

- k
