The patch titled Subject: drivers/rtc/rtc-sa1100.c: move clock enable/disable to probe/remove has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is rtc-sa1100-move-clock-enable-disable-to-probe-remove.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Chao Xie <chao.xie@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: drivers/rtc/rtc-sa1100.c: move clock enable/disable to probe/remove The original sa1100_rtc_open/sa1100_rtc_release will be called when the /dev/rtc0 is opened or closed. In fact, these two functions will enable/disable the clock. Disabling clock will make rtc not work. So only enable/disable clock when probe/remove the device.
