The patch titled bitops: remove duplicated extern declarations has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is bitops-remove-duplicated-extern-declarations.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** See http://userweb.kernel.org/~akpm/stuff/added-to-mm.txt to find out what to do about this The current -mm tree may be found at http://userweb.kernel.org/~akpm/mmotm/ ------------------------------------------------------ Subject: bitops: remove duplicated extern declarations From: Akinobu Mita <akinobu.mita@xxxxxxxxx> If CONFIG_GENERIC_FIND_NEXT_BIT is enabled, find_next_bit() and find_next_zero_bit() are doubly declared in asm-generic/bitops/find.h and linux/bitops.h. asm/bitops.h includes asm-generic/bitops/find.h if and only if the architecture enables CONFIG_GENERIC_FIND_NEXT_BIT. And asm/bitops.h is included by linux/bitops.h So we can just remove the extern declarations of find_next_bit() and find_next_zero_bit() in linux/bitops.h. Also we can remove unneeded #ifndef CONFIG_GENERIC_FIND_NEXT_BIT in asm-generic/bitops/find.h.
