The patch titled flex_array: add helpers to get and put to make pointers easy to use has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is flex_array-add-helpers-to-get-and-put-to-make-pointers-easy-to-use.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** See http://userweb.kernel.org/~akpm/stuff/added-to-mm.txt to find out what to do about this The current -mm tree may be found at http://userweb.kernel.org/~akpm/mmotm/ ------------------------------------------------------ Subject: flex_array: add helpers to get and put to make pointers easy to use From: Eric Paris <eparis@xxxxxxxxxx> Getting and putting arrays of pointers with flex arrays is a PITA. You have to remember to pass &ptr to the _put and you have to do weird and wacky casting to get the ptr back from the _get. Add two functions flex_array_get_ptr() and flex_array_put_ptr() to handle all of the magic.
