The patch titled
checkpatch: change externals to globals
has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is
checkpatch-change-externals-to-globals.patch
Before you just go and hit "reply", please:
a) Consider who else should be cc'ed
b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well
c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a
reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's

Subject: checkpatch: change externals to globals

Make error message say 'ERROR: do not initialise globals to 0 or NULL'
rather than 'ERROR: do not initialise externals to 0 or NULL'. Makes more
sense in the context since there is an extern keyword in C and that is a
global declaration within the scope of the current file.
