The patch titled
     mm: compaction: add /proc trigger for memory compaction
has been added to the -mm tree.  Its filename is
     mm-compaction-add-proc-trigger-for-memory-compaction.patch

Before you just go and hit "reply", please:
   a) Consider who else should be cc'ed
   b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well
   c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a
      reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's

This patch adds a proc file /proc/sys/vm/compact_memory.  When an
arbitrary value is written to the file, all zones are compacted.  The
expected user of such a trigger is a job scheduler that prepares the
system before the target application runs.
