The patch titled
     i386, x86-64: show that CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU is required for suspend on SMP
has been added to the -mm tree.  Its filename is
     i386-x86-64-show-that-config_hotplug_cpu-is-required-for-suspend-on-smp.patch
