The patch titled Subject: selftests, x86: fix how check_cc.sh is being invoked has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is selftests-x86-fix-how-check_ccsh-is-being-invoked.patch This patch should soon appear at https://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/selftests-x86-fix-how-check_ccsh-is-being-invoked.patch and later at https://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/selftests-x86-fix-how-check_ccsh-is-being-invoked.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/process/submit-checklist.rst when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Guillaume Tucker <guillaume.tucker@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: selftests, x86: fix how check_cc.sh is being invoked The $(CC) variable used in Makefiles could contain several arguments such as "ccache gcc". These need to be passed as a single string to check_cc.sh, otherwise only the first argument will be used as the compiler command. Without quotes, the $(CC) variable is passed as distinct arguments which causes the script to fail to build trivial programs. Fix this by adding quotes around $(CC) when calling check_cc.sh to pass the whole string as a single argument to the script even if it has several words such as "ccache gcc".
