The patch titled Subject: kernel/resource: move and rename IORESOURCE_MEM_DRIVER_MANAGED has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is kernel-resource-move-and-rename-ioresource_mem_driver_managed.patch This patch should soon appear at https://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/kernel-resource-move-and-rename-ioresource_mem_driver_managed.patch and later at https://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/kernel-resource-move-and-rename-ioresource_mem_driver_managed.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/process/submit-checklist.rst when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: David Hildenbrand <david@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: kernel/resource: move and rename IORESOURCE_MEM_DRIVER_MANAGED IORESOURCE_MEM_DRIVER_MANAGED currently uses an unused PnP bit, which is always set to 0 by hardware. This is far from beautiful (and confusing), and the bit only applies to SYSRAM. So let's move it out of the bus-specific (PnP) defined bits. We'll add another SYSRAM specific bit soon. If we ever need more bits for other purposes, we can steal some from "desc", or reshuffle/regroup what we have.
