The patch titled
Subject: mm/hugetlb: count file_region to be added when regions_needed != NULL
has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is
     mm-hugetlb-count-file_region-to-be-added-when-regions_needed-=-null.patch

This patch should soon appear at
    https://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/mm-hugetlb-count-file_region-to-be-added-when-regions_needed-%3D-null.patch
and later at
    https://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/mm-hugetlb-count-file_region-to-be-added-when-regions_needed-%3D-null.patch

Before you just go and hit "reply", please:
   a) Consider who else should be cc'ed
   b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well
   c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a
reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's

Subject: mm/hugetlb: count file_region to be added when regions_needed != NULL

There are only two cases of function add_reservation_in_range()

    * count file_region and return the number in regions_needed
    * do the real list operation without counting

This means it is not necessary to have two parameters to classify these
two cases.

Just use regions_needed to separate them.
