The patch titled Subject: mm: introduce FAULT_FLAG_DEFAULT has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is mm-introduce-fault_flag_default.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/mm-introduce-fault_flag_default.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/mm-introduce-fault_flag_default.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/process/submit-checklist.rst when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Peter Xu <peterx@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: mm: introduce FAULT_FLAG_DEFAULT Although there're tons of arch-specific page fault handlers, most of them are still sharing the same initial value of the page fault flags. Say, merely all of the page fault handlers would allow the fault to be retried, and they also allow the fault to respond to SIGKILL. Let's define a default value for the fault flags to replace those initial page fault flags that were copied over. With this, it'll be far easier to introduce new fault flag that can be used by all the architectures instead of touching all the archs.
