The patch titled Subject: cmdline: add generic builtin command line has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is add-generic-builtin-command-line.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/add-generic-builtin-command-line.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/add-generic-builtin-command-line.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/process/submit-checklist.rst when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Daniel Walker <danielwa@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: cmdline: add generic builtin command line Patch series "Generic command line", v2. This patch (of 4): This code allows architectures to use a generic builtin command line. The state of the builtin command line options across architecture is diverse. On x86 and mips they have pretty much the same code and the code prepends the builtin command line onto the boot loader provided one. On powerpc there is only a builtin override and nothing else. The code in this commit unifies the mips and x86 code into a generic header file under the CONFIG_GENERIC_CMDLINE option. When this option is enabled the architecture can call the cmdline_add_builtin() to add the builtin command line.
