The patch titled Subject: mm/memcontrol: support MEMORY_DEVICE_PRIVATE has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is mm-memcontrol-support-memory_device_private-v4.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/mm-memcontrol-support-memory_device_private-v4.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/mm-memcontrol-support-memory_device_private-v4.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Jérôme Glisse <jglisse@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: mm/memcontrol: support MEMORY_DEVICE_PRIVATE HMM pages (private or public device pages) are ZONE_DEVICE page and thus need special handling when it comes to lru or refcount. This patch make sure that memcontrol properly handle those when it face them. Those pages are use like regular pages in a process address space either as anonymous page or as file back page. So from memcg point of view we want to handle them like regular page for now at least.
