Its filename is mm-mremap-fail-map-duplication-attempts-for-private-mappings.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/mm-mremap-fail-map-duplication-attempts-for-private-mappings.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/mm-mremap-fail-map-duplication-attempts-for-private-mappings.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Mike Kravetz <mike.kravetz@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: mm/mremap: fail map duplication attempts for private mappings mremap will attempt to create a 'duplicate' mapping if old_size == 0 is specified. In the case of private mappings, mremap will actually create a fresh separate private mapping unrelated to the original. This does not fit with the design semantics of mremap as the intention is to create a new mapping based on the original. Therefore, return EINVAL in the case where an attempt is made to duplicate a private mapping. Also, print a warning message (once) if such an attempt is made.
