The patch titled Subject: mm: make try_to_munlock() return void has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is mm-make-the-try_to_munlock-void-function.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/mm-make-the-try_to_munlock-void-function.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/mm-make-the-try_to_munlock-void-function.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Minchan Kim <minchan@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: mm: make try_to_munlock() return void try_to_munlock returns SWAP_MLOCK if the one of VMAs mapped the page has VM_LOCKED flag. In that time, VM set PG_mlocked to the page if the page is not pte-mapped THP which cannot be mlocked, either. With that, __munlock_isolated_page can use PageMlocked to check whether try_to_munlock is successful or not without relying on try_to_munlock's retval. It helps to make try_to_unmap/try_to_unmap_one simple with upcoming patches.
