The patch titled Subject: xfs: abstract PF_FSTRANS to PF_MEMALLOC_NOFS has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is xfs-abstract-pf_fstrans-to-pf_memalloc_nofs.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/xfs-abstract-pf_fstrans-to-pf_memalloc_nofs.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/xfs-abstract-pf_fstrans-to-pf_memalloc_nofs.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Michal Hocko <mhocko@xxxxxxxx> Subject: xfs: abstract PF_FSTRANS to PF_MEMALLOC_NOFS xfs has defined PF_FSTRANS to declare a scope GFP_NOFS semantic quite some time ago. We would like to make this concept more generic and use it for other filesystems as well. Let's start by giving the flag a more generic name PF_MEMALLOC_NOFS which is in line with an exiting PF_MEMALLOC_NOIO already used for the same purpose for GFP_NOIO contexts. Replace all PF_FSTRANS usage from the xfs code in the first step before we introduce a full API for it as xfs uses the flag directly anyway. This patch doesn't introduce any functional change.
