The patch titled Subject: power: add zone range overlapping check has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is power-add-zone-range-overlapping-check.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/power-add-zone-range-overlapping-check.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/power-add-zone-range-overlapping-check.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Joonsoo Kim <iamjoonsoo.kim@xxxxxxx> Subject: power: add zone range overlapping check There is a system thats node's pfns are overlapped as follows: -----pfn--------> N0 N1 N2 N0 N1 N2 Therefore, we need to care this overlapping when iterating pfn range. mark_free_pages() iterates requested zone's pfn range and unset all range's bitmap first. And then it marks freepages in a zone to the bitmap. If there is an overlapping zone, above unset could clear previous marked bit and reference to this bitmap in the future will cause the problem. To prevent it, this patch adds a zone check in mark_free_pages().
