The patch titled Subject: zram: fix possible use after free in zcomp_create() has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is zram-fix-possible-use-after-free-in-zcomp_create.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/zram-fix-possible-use-after-free-in-zcomp_create.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/zram-fix-possible-use-after-free-in-zcomp_create.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Luis Henriques <luis.henriques@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: zram: fix possible use after free in zcomp_create() zcomp_create() verifies the success of zcomp_strm_{multi,single}_create() through comp->stream, which can potentially be pointing to memory that was freed if these functions returned an error. While at it, replace a 'ERR_PTR(-ENOMEM)' by a more generic 'ERR_PTR(error)' as in the future zcomp_strm_{multi,siggle}_create() could return other error codes. Function documentation updated accordingly.
