The patch titled Subject: thp: do not adjust zone water marks if khugepaged is not started has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is thp-do-not-adjust-zone-water-marks-if-khugepaged-is-not-started.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/thp-do-not-adjust-zone-water-marks-if-khugepaged-is-not-started.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/thp-do-not-adjust-zone-water-marks-if-khugepaged-is-not-started.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: "Kirill A. Shutemov" <kirill.shutemov@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: thp: do not adjust zone water marks if khugepaged is not started set_recommended_min_free_kbytes() adjusts zone water marks to be suitable for khugepaged. We avoid doing this if khugepaged is disabled, but don't catch the case when khugepaged is failed to start. Let's address this by checking khugepaged_thread instead of khugepaged_enabled() in set_recommended_min_free_kbytes(). It's NULL if the kernel thread is stopped or failed to start.
