The patch titled
Subject: mm: make FIRST_USER_ADDRESS unsigned long on all archs
has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is
     mm-make-first_user_address-unsigned-long-on-all-archs.patch

This patch should soon appear at
    http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/mm-make-first_user_address-unsigned-long-on-all-archs.patch
and later at
    http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/mm-make-first_user_address-unsigned-long-on-all-archs.patch

Before you just go and hit "reply", please:
   a) Consider who else should be cc'ed
   b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well
   c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a
reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's

*** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code ***

The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated
there every 3-4 working days

From: "Kirill A. Shutemov" <kirill.shutemov@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Subject: mm: make FIRST_USER_ADDRESS unsigned long on all archs

LKP has triggered a compiler warning after my recent patch "mm: account
pmd page tables to the process":

    mm/mmap.c: In function 'exit_mmap':
 >> mm/mmap.c:2857:2: warning: right shift count >= width of type [enabled by default]

The code:

 > 2857 WARN_ON(mm_nr_pmds(mm) >
   2858                                round_up(FIRST_USER_ADDRESS, PUD_SIZE) >> PUD_SHIFT);

In this, on tile, we have FIRST_USER_ADDRESS defined as 0. round_up() has
the same type -- int. PUD_SHIFT.

I think the best way to fix it is to define FIRST_USER_ADDRESS as unsigned
long. On every arch for consistency.
