Subject: [merged] signals-kill-the-obsolete-sigdelset-and-recalc_sigpending-in-allow_signal.patch removed from -mm tree To: oleg@xxxxxxxxxx,dwmw2@xxxxxxxxxxxxx,fweisbec@xxxxxxxxx,geert@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,mathieu.desnoyers@xxxxxxxxxxxx,mingo@xxxxxxxxxx,peterz@xxxxxxxxxxxxx,richard@xxxxxx,rostedt@xxxxxxxxxxx,tj@xxxxxxxxxx,viro@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,mm-commits@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx From: akpm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Mon, 09 Jun 2014 12:34:12 -0700 The patch titled Subject: signals: kill the obsolete sigdelset() and recalc_sigpending() in allow_signal() has been removed from the -mm tree. Its filename was signals-kill-the-obsolete-sigdelset-and-recalc_sigpending-in-allow_signal.patch This patch was dropped because it was merged into mainline or a subsystem tree ------------------------------------------------------ From: Oleg Nesterov <oleg@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: signals: kill the obsolete sigdelset() and recalc_sigpending() in allow_signal() allow_signal() does sigdelset(current->blocked) due to historic reason, previously it could be called by a daemonize()'ed kthread, and daemonize() played with current->blocked. Now that daemonize() has gone away we can remove sigdelset() and recalc_sigpending(). If a user really wants to unblock a signal, it must use sigprocmask() or set_current_block() explicitely.
