There is also a call in
drivers/ssb/driver_chipcommon_pmu.c

In addition
drivers/net/ethernet/broadcom/bgmac.c:
calls bcm47xx_nvram_foo(...) without any ifdef and depends on this.

I think it would be best to separate these two things and and try to
remove the ifdefs in a separate patch.
