SUBJECTSTRIPCODE help

Folks:

I'm trying to modify my config to remove '[EXTERNAL]' from messages that are posted to my lists.

I thought it would be quite simple to implement using this:

<SUBJECTSTRIPCODE>
s/\[EXTERNAL\]//;
</SUBJECTSTRIPCODE>

However, when the messages show up in my archives, [EXTERNAL] is still in the message and on the threads.

My original code was this: 's/\[EXTERNAL\]\s+(re:\s*)?//i;', but it wasn't working, so I simplified it to the above.
