mharc cron

hi.

is there a way of running mharc automatically but without using cron?
i don't want to have a cron job running but would like to automatically
archive the list.  i know the frequency of the cron job can be adjusted
but would prefer something like what the mhonarc documents have
(inserting a command in the .forward file to archive when a new mail 
arrives)
